Is the tank and fuel acceptable

The tank should be less than 10 meters tall, and contain

heating oil, diesel, kerosene, gasoil, AdBlue or        water. It should be possible to mount the
probe  without  striking  any  impassable  barriers  (the  probe  will  bend  around  minor
obstruction)

Is there a GSM signal?

Using the SmartGuard at the tank press the button as in fig.6 and

follow the light sequence as detailed below after fig.6. If connected to the network as
described continue with installation. If not please contact Atlantis on

 0330 9991100.

Take measurements

. The height of the tank (on a bunded tank this is the inner fuel bearing

tank) in cm, the volume of the tank in litres and finally the height of the liquid in cm. This
data is recorded on the installation form along with the SmartGuard serial number and is
then entered during the registration process.

Does the tank already have an electronic gauge mounting point?

Many tanks now have

a mount already defined and drilled. If so the SmartGuard will screw straight into it.

If not a suitable position will have to be selected and three holes will be drilled. These are
a central 25mm hole and 2 small pilot holes for self-tapping screws.

See *fig 2

(If a suitable

electric screwdriver is used the pilot holes may be skipped)

Mount the threaded collar onto the fixing holes using the supplied seal, as shown in *fig

Fit the wire.

Insert the SmartGuard enclosure into the threaded collar and fully tighten.
