In that mode the circuit of a current loop is supplied from an external source of power voltage (24...36 V).
Levels of the output current:

N – the output current is in proportion (4.. 20 mA) to the gas concentration reported by an appropriate
detector (4..20 mA),
DEF – default current (3..22 mA) defined specifically for each separate transmission channel – see
Attachment [3].
The output current of ca. 2 mA measured in any out output line indicates a failure of the Sigma MOD AO
module.
