1. Select NETWORK SETUP, press “ENTER” and
use the “SEL Knob” to turn DHCP (Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol) On or Off.
When DHCP is disabled, users must manually enter:
- IP Address
- Subnet Mask
- Gateway
This is recommended for advanced users. For quick
and simple network configuration, connect the Ethernet
connection to your router and enable DHCP.
The Network function has two primary functions. The
first is the Livestreaming function, which is detailed on
the next page. The second, and perhaps less obvious
feature, is to allow connection of the Asystems remote
panel control software. This software can be found on
the AV500HD product page on www.asystems-sys.com.
1. Press “ENTER” when HDCP is highlighted and use
the “SEL Knob” to turn HDCP On or Off.
When HDCP is not turned on, DHCP encrypted video
sources will not be allowed to pass through PGM.
NOTE 1: During streaming and recording, PGM content
is HDCP encrypted and SDI output is disabled.
NOTE 2: When HDCP is already enabled and users
attempt to connect other HDCP devices to an HDMI
input that was previously unoccupied, please turn the
HDCP function off and then on again to decode the
signal. Otherwise, it will not be able to be displayed in
the multiview screen. Users must do this for all HDCP
devices, unless the device was connected to the
AV500HD before activating the HDCP function.

AUTHOR’S NOTE:
The above information can seem incredibly confusing because we’re dealing with both DHCP and
HDCP. Amazingly, these are two completely different things. DHCP is Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, where the
network settings are essentially determined by your DHCP-enabled router. HDCP is High-bandwidth Digital Content
Protection, a mode of copy protection enabled used to prevent copying of audio and video as it passes through different
devices. Don’t feel bad if you get their acronyms confused from time to time.
