When your heat exchange system is controlled by pressure (with a pressure switch), you should take into account that
the installation may not have sufficient pressure when working at ECO speed, meaning that the heat exchange system
will only work when the TURBO mode is used.
3. Can my chemical dosing system work at low speed?
In most cases, yes. Most chemical dosing systems require a minimum flow rate of between 3 and 5 m
3
/h in the case
of salt electrolysis equipment. This flow rate is guaranteed at low speed under all conditions.
However, you should check the minimum operating flow rate of your dosing system to ensure that it is lower than when
the unit is working in ECO mode.
4. Should I install a specific electrical box to operate the dual-speed pump?
Yes. As the pump can operate at two speeds, the electrical box should be able to determine at which moment and for
how long the pump should be stopped when working at either speed.
5. Is it necessary to change the hydraulic installation and piping to install the dual-speed
pump?
Installing a dual-speed pump does not involve any special dimensioning or any changes to the design of the installation.
When dimensioning, the operating characteristics of the pump at TURBO speed should be taken into account.
6. Can I install the dual-speed pump in an installation with an automatic selection valve?
Yes, but the following operation should be considered.
The automatic selection valves automatically detect the need for a filter backwash. Therefore, the pressure switch should
be adjusted to the high-speed position (TURBO).
Once this has been achieved, the order will be given to the electrical box to stop pumping. To do this, the valve will have
to be connected to the pump’s electrical box according to the instructions given in the installation manual for the valve
and timer. The wiring should give priority to the time settings in the pump’s control box.
After this, the valve is positioned as required and will allow the control box to start up again until the washing cycle is
completed.
It is important to programme at least one high-speed (TURBO) cycle per day to that the filter is cleaned correctly
wherever necessary, as otherwise the pressure within the filter may not reach the minimum level detected by the pressure
switch.
7. Should any precautions be taken if I only want to use the ECO low-speed mode?
If you do not wish to use the TURBO speed at any time, it must be taken into account that the pressure in the filter will
always be lower than that marked as “filter washing needed”. In this case, it is recommended that this level is reduced
to that appropriate to the installation, alongside a visual check of the cleanliness of the filter.
Nevertheless, it is recommended that one high-speed (TURBO) cycle per day is programmed.
8. Might there be problems with priming the pump?
The self-suction capacity when using the ECO speed is lower than when using the TURBO speed. If you suspect that the
pump has become unprimed, programme the TURBO mode cycle at the start in order to ensure fast priming of the pump.
9. Could the lighting system be affected by a dual-speed pump?
No, the electrical circuits are independent.
