7. POSSIBLE CAUSES OF BREAKDOWN
The motor turns the wrong
way round.
The pump sucks in air.
The pump is obstructed
(leaves, etc.).
If none of these causes
are recognised call the
maintenance service.
Check and correct the way
the motor rotates.
The water level is not high
enough.
The suction pipe is not
correctly sealed.
Clean it out.
The pneumatic switch
is not sensitive enough.
The pneumatic conduit is
bent or blocked.
Adjust the sensitiveness of
the switch to air pressure.
Check and correct.
PROBLEM
PROBABLE CAUSE
SOLUTION
The unit does not give an
adequate flow.
The pump does not start
or it starts but stops
easily.
The regulation is not correct.
One of the phases does not
work.
The motor is overheated.
The air suction tube is
tangled.
Check the regulation of the
thermal relay.
The nominal intensity of the
motor and the local conditions
must coincide with the
regulation of the thermal relay.
Check the fuses.
Check and correct.
Cool the motor down and
start it up again later.
The installation should be
checked by an electrician.
Pump is turned off by the
thermal relay of the motor
protection.
The circuit breaker trips.
The air-water mix is poor.
