Battery Fluid Level
Check the fluid level in the battery every 50 hours of
operation. Add clean distilled water to each cell until the
fluid level is at the split ring in each cell opening.
IMPORTANT:
If the temperature is 0 C (32 F) or below
and you have added water to the battery do the
following: Connect a battery charger to the battery or run
the engine for two hours to mix the water with the
electrolyte.
Battery Vents
Keep the hood vents clean. Make sure the vents are not
restricted.
WARNING:
Before you service a battery,
always wear face protection, protective gloves
and protective clothing. Battery acid or battery
explosion can cause serious injuries.
WARNING:
Battery acid causes severe burns.
Batteries contain sulfuric acid. Avoid contact with
skin, eyes or clothing. Antidote - EXTERNAL: flush
with water. INTERNAL: drink large quantities of
water or milk. DO NOT induce vomiting. Seek
medical attention immediately. BATTERIES

at full charge. If you do not follow these
instructions, you or others in the area can be
injured.

Sparks or flame can cause
hydrogen gas in a battery to explode. To prevent
an explosion, do the following:
1. When you disconnect the battery cables,
always disconnect the negative (-) battery cable
first.
2. When you connect the battery cables, always
connect the negative (-) cable last.
