Maintenance
Attention!
Do not spray lubricant into the ESA500 / ESA501 electronic door fitting:
The
ESA500 / ESA501 electric door fitting must not be lubricated.
The battery can withstand a maximum of 30,000 opening cycles in a maximum of
three years. At the latest, the battery must be replaced if one of these two limits
has been reached (“Replacing the battery”, page 47).
Attention!
Replace the battery within 2 minutes:
Temporary codes are retained for
2 minutes. A new battery must be inserted within this time. If the power is out for
prolonged periods of time, the hotel and carrier function is deleted and the RTC
(Real-Time-Clock) stops running, which means that the time basis for the validity
of the code (hours / days) is lost.
Fire doors must be checked for correct and safe function at intervals of no longer
than one month. In particular:
· Inspect and confirm all functions of the lock and the door fitting. Ensure that all
components of the lock (lock, door fitting and striking plate) work safely.
· All parts of the lock must be clean to prevent blockage.
· No subsequent changes may be made to a fire door and no additional locking
mechanisms may be added.
· Check whether all components of the system still correspond to the list of
approved components originally supplied with the system.
· Check that all operating elements are mounted safely.
· Measure the actuating forces for releasing the escape door lock with a dy-
namometer and log the results.
· Check that the actuating forces for releasing the escape door lock have not
changed significantly since the first installation.
