Ensure that the appliance is automatical-
ly or manually switched off before
removing it from its stand.
Never place the appliance on or beside
hot surfaces, for example, radiators,
cooking rings, gas burners or similar.
If an extension lead is required, use only
an earthed cable with a conductor cross-

ways use the appliance for the appro-
priate purpose!
This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or
lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
Keep packaging material e.g. plastic
bags out of the reach of children!
Never switch on the appliance if there is
no water in it. The stainless steel base
becomes discoloured and could be dam-
aged if the kettle is used when there is
no water in it.
Warning! Risk of scalding!
Hot steam ejected by the kettle can
cause scalding. Observe the maximum
filling level. Never open the lid while the
kettle is switched on.
Warning! Danger of burns!
The metal kettle gets very hot when in
use. Contact with the skin can cause
burns!
Never fill the kettle beyond the maxi-
mum filling level (1.0 litres)!
If the kettle is overfilled boiling water
may be ejected!
The appliance becomes hot during oper-
ation - this is normal! Only ever use the
handle to pour out the water!
The installation of a faulty current
protective device with a rated breaking
current offers you additional safety by
ensuring that 30 mA will not be exceed-
ed in the house installation. Let your
installation electrician advise you!
Remove the plug from the mains:
- if the unit does not function properly
- before cleaning
- after every use.
Safety instructions for cleaning and main-
tenance
Neither the appliance nor the power
base can be opened.
Always remove the kettle from the
power base and allow it to cool down if
faults occur during operation or for
cleaning and maintenance! Disconnect
the plug from the mains!
Do not use the cable to pull on the plug
or pull the plug out of the socket when
hands are wet!
Warning! Danger of electric shock or
short-circuit!
Protect the appliance and the power
base from damp.
Never put them into the dishwasher!
Never immerse them in water!
Observe the instructions for de-scaling!
The appliance may only be used
to heat
and boil water
.
Never put milk, soup, cof-
fee or tea, etc., into the kettle.
No liability is accepted for any damage
resulting from use for other purposes,
faulty operation or amateur repairs. Guar-
antee services are also excluded in such
cases.
The appliance is not intended for catering
purposes!
