To Configure the PMC Stream for Listen-in (Pass Through and PMC Broadcaster):
1.
Ensure the VIPA device used to provide the listen-in audio stream has been configured with correct IP
address and all required Audio Devices, including audio inputs and outputs.
Example:
The iPAM400 in Figure 18 (page 55) has two
Audio Device
nodes.
Each
Audio Device
node has two
Audio Input
nodes and two
Audio Output
nodes.
2.
Select the required
Audio Device
node, and ensure all parameters have the system default settings.
Refer to the System Design documentation to find out the audio input used for the listen-in function.
Example:
Audio Input 1 is used for listen-in using Pass Through and PMC Broadcaster method in
Figure 16 (page 52).
Therefore,
Audio Device Built-in Sound (Inputs 1 & 2, Outputs 1 & 3)
is selected.
3.
Select the
Audio Input
used for listen-in function and set the configuration parameters as follows.
•
Enable
(Required Settings): Enable the input.
•
Audio Groups
(Advanced Optional Settings): Assign a user-defined audio group.
Example:
Audio group “ipam02-ip1” has been assigned to Audio Input 1.
•
Other parameters: System default settings. Adjust audio level if required.
4.
Add a
PMC Device
node to the VIPA device node.
Refer to the System Design documentation to find out the multicast address and port used for the
listen-in provided by this audio input.
•
Port
: Communication port assigned to the listen-in stream associated with this zone
From the microphone configuration file; see button 6 in Figure 1 (page 14):
Port =
port
Example: Port = 17043
•
Multicast address
: Multicast address assigned to the listen-in stream associated with this
zone
From the microphone configuration file; see button 6 in Figure 1 (page 14):
Multicast address =
ipaddr
Example: Multicast address = 239.0.2.43
•
Other parameters: system default settings
5.
Add a
PMC Output
to the
PMC Device
of the VIPA device node.
•
Type
: Static
•
Audio Groups
(Advanced Optional Settings): A user-defined audio group
Example: Audio Groups = “ipam02-stream1”
6.
Add a
Pass Through
node to the Audio Device node.
This Pass Through node provides the audio output to the speaker lines via a permanent route.
•
From
: The audio group assigned to the Audio Input.
Example: From = “ipam02-ip”
•
To
: A user-defined audio group
Example: To = “ipam02-passthrough-slot1”
