Appendix A: 9d24 Mkll Functionality with a 9d23 SIM

The 9d24 MkII Cordless Telephone can be used with a 9d23 SIM card but the
functionality will be limited as described below.

9d24 Mkll Functions that are not working

• Man-down alarm does not work.

• Central phonebook from Contacts menu is not available.

• Modes are not available.

• Switch off from modes menu is not possible.

• Services are not available.

• Internal call, External call and Callback will have the same Ring signal setting.

• Soft keys cannot be used.

• Some Hot key shortcuts cannot be used, see

Hot keys

for more information.

9d24 Mkll Functions that are working

• Phone calls to and from the handset

• Messages

• SMS from the handset

• Interactive Messaging

• Push-button alarms

• No-movement alarm

• Pull-cord alarm works but has to be activated every time the handset is restarted.

Hot keys

The 9d23 and 9d24 Mkll do not have the same set of Hot key functions. When the Hot
keys on a 9d23 SIM are programmed with functions, the following applies:

It is not possible to program the 9d23 SIM card with the shortcuts Local phonebook and
Services.

Note:

If a Hot key indicates Man-down alarm when a 9d23 SIM is used, the handset will

indicate “Wrong SIM” when the Hot key is pressed.
