HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH
• Apply appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe
electrical work practices. See NFPA 70E, CSA Z462 or NOM-029-STPS.
•
This equipment must only be installed and serviced by qualified
electrical personnel.
•
Turn off all power supplying this equipment before working on or inside
equipment.
•
Always use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm power is
off.
• Replace all devices, doors and covers before turning on power to this
equipment.
•
This equipment must be effectively grounded per all applicable codes.
Use an equipment-grounding conductor to connect this equipment to the
power system ground.
•
Deenergize SPD, confirm with appropriate measurement equipment and
discharge internal capacitance to ground
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.
Inspect the SPD periodically to maintain system performance and
continued transient voltage surge suppression. Periodically check the state
of the diagnostic display panel LED status indicators. Routinely use the built-
in diagnostics to inspect for inoperative modules.
If a phase LED in extinguished or the service light is on please contact
ASCO Power Technologies if a module shows two green indicator lights
and the display panel shows a red phase indicator light. For application
questions, contact the ASCO Power Technologies Technical Assistance
Group at (800) 237-4567 or [email protected]
The module(s) is field replaceable. Deenergize SPD, confirm with
appropriate measurement equipment and discharge internal capacitance
to ground. Depending on model, module may be bolted to backplane or the
backplane may be part of the module assembly. Remove module/backplane.
Reinstall in reverse order.
There are no user serviceable parts inside the module. Do not disassemble.
Modules may be returned to the factory for factory service, qualification and
return. Please contact the factory at (800) 237-4567 for assistance.
