  Oven stand continued 

 

 
The top to the stand now needs to be poured,. Use a 4ft x 4ft x 1/2” sheet of cement board as the floor of 
the frame. A frame work of 2” x 6”  boards will be needed as an outer frame and  also 2” x 4”  supports on 
the inside to prevent the cement board deflecting under the weight of concrete. This is supported by vertical

Cut 1/2” rebar to fit inside the top of the stand before pouring the stand top  (set on 12” centres) 
The cement board remains as part of the stand. After a couple of days remove the form work and the 
 internal  supports. Finish the sides of the stand as desired  with render, cultured stone etc . It is  
recommended to finish the top with waterproof tile,. This can be ceramic tile or natural stone or granite tile.
