Description
The KMP stoker is designed to be installed in a boiler and is to be fired with wood-
en pellets. The attached screw feeds pellets from a barrel or similar, alternatively a
separate storage bin that might be filled from the outside, either from a barrel or a
sack or trough a hose from a truck by means of compressed air.
The integrated electronics controls the stoker with a special temperature sensor,
wich is to mounted on the boiler, and starts and stops the stoker. The output is
automatically adjusted with regard to the boiler temperature.
There is a breaker on the control panel for start and stop, and a control screw to
adjust the desired working temperature of the boiler.
Three control lamps indicate that:
1. – current is on
(green) (above On/Off switch)
– stoker is in full power mode
(green)
– stoker is igniting
(green blink)
– stoker is standing by
(green slow blink)
2. – stoker is in low power mode
(yellow)
3. – shut down
(red)
– shut down in full power mode (red) (green)
– shut down in low power mode (red) (yellow)
The stoker is equipped with a microprocessor controlled system that regulates the
combustion. Ignition is made with a heater coil when the boiler temperature is
lower than the temperature chosen on the control panel. The starting procedure is
made automatically in several steps in order to achieve a quick and virtually smoke-
less startup. In case the ignition fails the procedure is repeated once or, if needed,
twice.
When the boiler temperature has increased 2 - 5˚C the output is reduced to half
power, to stop when the desired temperature is reached (80 - 85˚C). After a short
period of cooling down the stoker stops, to automatically restart when the
temperature has decreased about 12 - 17˚C.
