WATER CONNECTIONS
• Connect the water heater to the wa-
ter distribution system using a 3/4”
G pipe. The cold water inlet is to the
right, while the hot water outlet is on
the left, looking at the heater.
• Make sure the pressure in the water
supply system does not exceed 8
bar. If the pressure is higher than this,
then you must install a high quality
pressure reducer.
• The water heater must be
fi
tted with a
certi
fi
ed water pressure safety device
with a relief valve set at 8 bar, a non-
return valve, and an e
ff
ective drai-
nage system to be
fi
tted to the cold
water inlet pipe. The safety valve set-
ting, limited to 8 bar, must never be
altered, on pain of cancellation of the
guarantee covering the water heater.
• During heating, the pressure relief
valve will necessarily drip. This is nor-
mal and must stop when the heater
reaches the set temperature. Provide
a funnel, connected to the drainage
system, as shown below (
fi
gure 3).
Make sure, by letting the water run
for some time, that there is no swarf,
sand, pipe dope etc in the water sup-
ply line. If any of these enter the pres-
sure relief or non-return valve they
will cause malfunction and in some
cases may lead to failure.
• If the water heater is to remain out of
service in an unheated area with tem-
peratures below zero, it is absolutely
essential to drain the heater (
fi
gure
4).
To this purpose, connect a drainage valve to
the
fi
tting R (
fi
gure 4) at installation.
To drain the water heater, you must:
· Close the valve upstream of the
water heater
· Open the stop valves downstream
of the water heater
· Open the drain valve connected to
fi
tting R.
