s Pull out the power cord and plug the appliance into the mains power.
CAUTION: The power cord should be used at full length to prevent any occurrence of dangerous
overheating.
s Press the On switch (L) for the appliance using your foot. A green indicator light on the control
panel (G) will switch on and start to blink, meaning that the appliance is in “standby” mode with
suction power at a minimum. The appliance is ready to use.
During use it is possible to return to “standby” mode by pressing the button in the middle of the
control panel (G) or on the panel (R) located on the handgrip (T) of the hose (M).
IMPORTANT: In some cases, you may hear a kind of “whistle” when the appliance is switched on.
This is not a fault and the noise should go away with time.
Blower function
Using air from the blower, it is possible to remove dust from those areas where it is not possible to
use the tools and attachments supplied; the blower can also be used to collect together, for example,
leaves in the garden.
s Remove the rear grid from the air outlet filter (Fig. 7).
t Connect the hose (M) to the special rear attachment.
s Press the On button (L) with your foot to switch on the appliance. A green indicator on the control
panel (G) will start to flash and the appliance will be in “standby” mode with blower power at a
minimum. The appliance is ready to use.
During use it is possible to return to “standby” mode by pressing the button in the middle of the
control panel (G) or on the panel (R) located on the handgrip (T) of the hose (M).
SUCTION POWER AND BLOWER AIR ADJUSTMENT
It is possible to increase or reduce suction or blower air power to suit requirements using the “+” and
“s” buttons on the control panel (G) on the appliance body (Fig. 8) as well as on the control panel (R)
on the handgrip (T) of the hose (M) (Fig. 9).
There are 4 suction power levels: low, medium, high and turbo. The suction power is shown by the
number of indicator lights that switch on the control panel (G).
CAUTION: We recommend using minimum power for delicate materials. Select a medium power for
mattresses, upholstered furnishings and carpets. Select maximum power for tiled or wood floors or
surfaces in another hardwearing material.
The controls on the handgrip (T) of the hose (M) (Fig. 9) are battery operated and therefore, before
starting the appliance, if you wish to use the handgrip controls, you need to insert the batteries into
the special compartment in the handgrip (T) after first removing the cover (S).
CAUTION: Make sure that the batteries are correctly inserted and that the positive and negative poles
are in the right place. If the controls do not work, check the batteries and try replacing them with 2
new ones.
NOTE: The red indicator light under the controls on the handgrip (T) will switch on every time the
controls are used.
