Controller
If
ETVision
is connected to the Controller (either via cable, or via WiFi and within WiFi range) the
field next to the “Controller” label will show the name of the last file recorded to an SD card. If the
Controller has an SD card inserted, the record button, to the right of the file name, will be active and
recording to the SD card can be started and stopped using this control (see section 6.7.2.2).
The “Set Mark Value” group box can be used to manually set event marks on digital data files being
recorded by
ETVision
(see section 6.7.1.3).
The Real-Time Input/Output group box is used to set up communication with external devices. See
section 6.8

8.4.2.1
Eye Video Source
The two check boxes enable the feedback overlays on the left and right eye images that show
recognition of the pupil outline (red ellipse), pupil center (green cross hairs), and Corneal Reflections
(blue cross hairs). If these boxes are not checked the feedback overlays will not appear. The default
condition is feedback enabled (boxes checked).
The sliders control eye camera “Gain" and image compression “Quality” of the eye images. The
slider value shows when the mouse is over the slider control. The gain slider is scaled from 0 at the
left to 15 at the right. The default for normal use is 10. For use outdoors in sunlight, a value of 5-7 is
often preferable (see section 7). The quality slider is scaled from 0% at the left to 100% at the right
(higher values correspond to better quality and less compression). The default and suggested value is
70%. This usually produces very good image quality without using excessive computer resources.
8.4.2.2
Scene Video Source
The “Draw Gaze” check box enables the point-of-gaze crosshair superimposed on the scene image. If
this box is unchecked the point-of-gaze crosshair will not appear. The default is "Draw Gaze"
enabled.
