8.1 General
- Insulating gas:
WI panels have a hermetically
sealed pressure system in accor-
dance with IEC 62271-200. It
does not require any maintenance
over the panel‘s entire service life
(see also section 7).
- Switching units:
The components in the cladded
high-voltage parts of the panel
(vacuum circuit-breaker, discon-
nector and earthing switch) do not
require any maintenance either.
- Drive mechanisms / covers:
Drive mechanisms and covers
outside of the enclosure are cor-
rosion protected.
Damage to the paint, scratches
and deterioration must be re paired
immediately to avoid corrosion .
8.2 Servicing schedule
Warning!
The drives must not
be disassembled for
service and mainte-
nance work. Use in accordan-
ce with the intended purpose
would be compromised
(see section 1.3).
A visual inspection of the switch-
gear, including switching tests, is
recommended at intervals of at least
4 years, depending on the stress the
switchgear is subject to during ope-
ration, and on the operating condi-
tions.
Important!
In case of frequent con-
densation or air pollution
(dust, smoke and corrosive
gases), the maintenance intervals
must be adapted to the actual con-
ditions.
In case of soiling, the switchgear
panels must be cleaned by qualified
staff.
In case of doubt or if deviations from
the WI switchgear’s proper working
order are detected, the manufacturer
should be contacted.
Important!
Only specialist electricians
who are familiar with WI
switchgear are allowed to
perform maintenance work.
Warning!
Comply with the safety
provisions in section
1.5!
