3. Attempt to push the ATV.
NOTE: The brake lever lock must
lock the wheels. If it doesn’t, take
the ATV to an authorized Arctic Cat
ATV dealer for service.
Brake Hoses
Carefully inspect the hydraulic brake
hoses for cracks or other damage. If
found, take the ATV to an authorized
Arctic Cat ATV dealer to have the brake
hoses replaced.
Brake Pads
The clearance between the brake pads
and brake discs is adjusted automatically
as the brake pads wear. The only mainte-
nance that is required is replacement of
the brake pads when they show excessive
wear. Check the thickness of each of the
brake pads as follows:
1. Remove a front wheel.
2. Measure the thickness of each brake
pad.
3. If thickness of either brake pad is less
than 1.0 mm (0.039 in.), take the ATV
to an authorized Arctic Cat ATV
dealer to have brake pads replaced.

4. Install the wheel and tighten to 40 ft-lb.
Protective Rubber
Boots
The protective boots should be inspected
periodically according to the Service
Booklet.
Ball Joint Boots (Upper
and Lower/Right and Left)

1. Secure the ATV on a support stand
to elevate the front wheels.
2. Remove both front wheels.
3. Inspect the four ball joint boots for
cracks, tears, or perforations.
4. Check the ball joint for free-play by
grasping the steering knuckle and
turning it from side to side and up
and down.
5. If boot damage is present or ball
joint free-play seems excessive, con-
tact an authorized Arctic Cat ATV
dealer for service.
Tie Rod Boots (Inner and
Outer/Right and Left)

1. Secure the ATV on a support stand
to elevate the front wheels.
2. Remove both front wheels.
3. Inspect the four tie rod boots for
cracks, tears, or perforations.
4. Check the tie rod end free-play by
grasping the tie rod near the end and
attempting to move it up and down.
5. If boot damage is present or tie rod
end free-play seems excessive, con-
tact an authorized Arctic Cat ATV
dealer for service.
