Alarm Connection Description
On the
rear
panel of the MONITOR is a DB9 male connector labeled, “ALARM
CONNECTION”. This connector provides a normally open and normally closed contact
switch to monitor the presence of encoded program material and to monitor the status of
the MONITOR itself. To allow remote monitoring of the MONITOR status, the
following connections are detailed:

The pins are connected to an internal relay of the MONITOR whose relay contacts are
rated at 0.3A max, 24VDC. If the front panel LED is
SOLID RED
and the Monitor
failure alarm is asserted, then a system failure has occurred.
