According to EN 62477-1:2017-10 chapter 4.4.4.3, table 7 – “Cross-sections of the ground
wires,” the cross-section of the ground wire depends on the cross-section of the supply line. The
supply line and the ground wire are made of the same material.

Use the data below to check whether the external diameter of the selected cable or wire is within
the sealing area of the EMC cable gland. The diameter of the cable shield must also be within the
shield diameter.

If a cable or wire is used whose external diameter is smaller than the smallest sealing area of the
EMC cable gland, suitable reducers must be used.
