Method 2: Packed Dual Media
In this method of use, two media are used and separated by the
Separation Plate (G)
1. Make certain the element™ Sponge (D1) is on the bottom of
the Reactor Chamber (F).
2. Fill the Reactor Chamber (F) with the first media to the
desired level.
3. Place element™ Sponge (D2) on top of the media.
4. Place the Separation Plate (G) onto the Threaded Rod (I).
5. Lower the Separation Plate (G) down to the element™
Sponge (D2) by turning the Threaded Rod (I) counter
clockwise, taking care that the two notches in the plate line
up with the inner tracks of the chamber.
6. Add the second media to be used to the desired level.
Optimally this would be to a point where only the element™
Sponge (D3) will fit at the top of the Reactor Chamber (F).
7. Place the element™ Sponge (D3) on the second media.
8. Put Upper Reactor Chamber Cover (C2) in place making
certain that the notches in the cover rim face the
appropriate direction (see Figure 4).
9. Reattach the Knob (I.1).
10. The media can now easily be rinsed if necessary.
11. Slide the Reactor Chamber (F) back into the Reactor
Column (E).
12. Replace the Reactor Column Cover (H) and the Locking
Ring (B2).
