TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
6.1
BRUSH NOT PICKING UP OIL
6.1.1 Debris Collected Around The Skimmer Head
Move the head or rake the debris clear.
6.1.2 Highly Emulsified Oil
Reduce the brush speed, and maintain an even flow towards the skimmer head with no
clear water patches.
6.1.3 Contamination Of Oil With Dispersant Or Other Surfactants
This will probably appear as a thin layer of non-adhesive oil detergent mixture on the oil. If
excessive, the skimmer will not function, and it will require cleaning. Moving the skimmer
head around in the oil may improve recovery.
6.2
BRUSH NOT BEING FULLY SCRAPED
6.2.1 Scraper Not Installed Correctly
Re-install the scraper (make sure brush is rotating when scraper is installed)
Also make sure brush is snapped into place.
Make sure scraper is in contact with brush, if not adjust set screws on bottom of scraper to
force scraper into brush (thus allowing more contact between brush and scraper).
6.2.2 Scraper Broken Or Damaged
Replace scraper when convenient. Check for damaged brush.
6.2.3 Debris Lodged Between Brush Or Drum And Scraper
Clear the debris using a thin blade between the scraper and the brush.
