It is possible to set the unit of
measurement of the speedometer (km or
mi) and of the coolant temperature (°C or
°F), the red line threshold, the clock func-
tions and if necessary the chronometer,

WARNING
The red line threshold is set at 6000 rpm
by
APRILIA
. Increase the threshold grad-
ually as you get acquainted with the ve-
hicle.
During running-in, never exceed the
recommended rpm, see p. 56 (RUN-
NING-IN).

Lock at least one wheel, by pulling a
brake lever.

Pull the clutch lever (14) completely and
shift the gearbox lever (15) into neutral

If the vehicle is started with cold engine,
rotate the cold start lever “

wards.

CAUTION
To avoid excessive consumption of the
battery, do not keep the start push but-
ton “

” pressed for more than fifteen
seconds.
If the engine does not start in this lapse
of time, wait ten seconds and press the
start push button “

” again.

out accelerating and release it as soon
as the engine starts.

CAUTION
Avoid pressing the start push button

” (18) when the engine is running,
since you may damage the starter.
If the engine oil pressure warning light

" (5) remains on, or if it comes on
during the normal operation of the en-
gine, this means that the oil pressure in
the circuit is insufficient.
In this case, stop the engine immediate-
ly and contact an

CAUTION
Never leave abruptly with cold engine.
To reduce the emission of polluting
substances and the consumption of fu-
el, warm the engine up by proceeding at
low speed for the first miles.
