CHECKING THE TORQUE SENSOR
CHECKING PROCEDURE WITH THE TORQUE
SENSOR NOT INSTALLED
Using a multimeter, perform the following check:
- Check that the sensors are in perfect mechanical
condition.
- Connect the red wire to 12 V dc.
- Earth the black wire.
- The voltage between the white and black wires
should be 1.15 ± 0.25 V.
CHECKING PROCEDURE WITH THE TORQUE
SENSOR INSTALLED
Read through the section PRECAUTIONS AND
GENERAL INFORMATION.
Put the vehicle on the stand.
Remove the battery as described in the paragraph
REMOVING THE BATTERY.
Remove the side fairings as directed in the paragraph
REMOVING THE SIDE FAIRINGS so as to gain
access to the sensor connector.
Reinstall the battery to allow the measurements to be
taken.
Perform the checks with a multimeter.
Ensure that the battery is charged and that the sensor
is properly connected to the controller.
Lock the rear wheel WITHOUT using the rear brake
(use the motor stop switches located on the brake
levers).
Set the main switch to ON.
Measure the voltage between the red and black wires
of connector (1). The voltage should be 12 ± 2 V.
Apply a force of approximately 50 kg (110 lbs) to the
pedal.
Measure the voltage between the white and black
wires of the sensor. The voltage should be 4 V dc ±
0.5 V.
REMOVING THE SPEED SENSOR
Read through the section PRECAUTIONS AND
GENERAL INFORMATION.
Put the vehicle on the stand.
Remove the battery as described in the paragraph
REMOVING THE BATTERY.
Remove the side fairings as directed in the paragraph
REMOVING THE SIDE FAIRINGS.
Detach electrical connector (1).
Take note of the wiring path so as to ensure proper
reinstallation.
