Performing a Run
Editing Details
This section describes how to edit a run method by:
• Adding a stage (

• Adding a step (

• Editing a temperature or a time (

• Editing a ramp rate (

• Creating a step to program different temperatures on the VeriFlex Blocks

Adding a Stage
The two types of run method stages are:
•
Cycling
– The steps in a cycling stage are repeated a specified number of times.
In general, the steps in a cycling stage are template denaturation, primer
annealing, and primer extension.
•
Holding
– The steps in a holding stage are not repeated.
To add a stage:
1. In the Edit Run Method screen, touch the stage name (at the top of the stage) to
select it. When a stage is selected, the area around the name is red.
2. Touch

A copy of the selected stage is added to the run method.
