Mount RF Module to the Outside of the Building
1. Fasten RF module to structure using 2 x 6
treated lumber. Mount RF module high
enough for a clear line of sight to all other RF
modules. Do not mount it so high that it could
be damaged by wind or lightning.
NOTE: RF modules should always be mounted
vertically, so the antenna is at the top. Also,
it should have a clear line of sight to the RF
module connected to the Network Master.
Connect Wires to the RF Module
a. Disconnect all the power sources and run
18 AWG shielded, two (2) conductor
network cable to the RF module. Cable
should not be longer than 100'.
b. Run power and communication cables
from either display unit or Network Master
to the RF module. Connect the white wire
from the power cable to the power terminal
marked “+” at the bottom left of RF
module. Connect the black wire to the
power terminal marked “-”. Connect the
white wire from RS485 communication
cable to RS485 terminal marked “A” at the
bottom right of RF module. Connect the
black wire to RS485 terminal marked “B”.
2. Replace the power terminal back onto pins.
3. Replace the lid and tighten.
