Firmware Upgrade
The Anybus CompactCom 40 Modbus-TCP firmware can be updated either by running the
Firmware Manager II tool (FMII), available at
, or by downloading the
firmware upgrade file directly to the host application file system. For any of these methods to
work the following needs to be implemented and/or performed:
•
HICP needs to be enabled (FMII only).
•
An FTP server needs to be implemented in the host application.
•
A directory named “firmware” in the host application FTP root.
•
The file module.nfo in the “firmware” directory in theAnybus CompactCom file system has
to be copied to the “firmware” directory in the host application file system (FMII only). The
Anybus CompactCom file system is accessed via the Anybus File System Object (0Ah).
Once a firmware file has been downloaded, the host application must be able to:
•
detect a new file in the “firmware” directory
•
download this file to the “firmware” directory in the Anybus CompactCom (The Anybus
CompactCom file system is accessed via the Anybus File System Object (0Ah).)
The firmware will be updated upon the next reset of the Anybus CompactCom 40 Modbus-TCP.
