CONNECTING THE HARDWARE
The ADAV4601 evaluation kit ships with a USB to serial converter and adaptor board which allows the graphical
programming suite SigmaStudio to communicate with the ADAV4601 evaluation board. The boards should be
connected as shown in Figure 15. The SigmaStudio USB Serial converter and adaptor board should be connected to
the ADAV4601 Evaluation board using the 96-way connector (J3).

Upon first connecting the USB to serial converter board you may be required to install the correct drivers.
Note:
Ensure that SigmaStudio is closed each time when connecting the USB Serial Converter board to the PC. This
ensures that the correct driver is loaded for the USB to serial converter.
INSTALLING SIGMASTUDIO
The Installation CD that shipped with the ADAV4601 automatically installs SigmaStudio. If SigmaStudio has not
been installed please, remove the CD and re-insert this into the PC. SigmaStudio should install automatically, if
SigmaStudio does not launch, select the
setup.exe
file on the CD and follow the instructions.
INSTALLING ADDITIONAL DLL FILES
Before launching SigmaStudio the user must add additional dll files to the SigmaStudio installation directory
located on the local drive at
C:\Program Files\Analog Devices Inc\SigmaStudio
. These additional files can be found
at the following location
C:\Program Files\Analog Devices\ADAV46xx Documentation\Additional dlls
.
Once these have been added to this directory the SigmaStudio can then be launched by going to
Programs->
Analog Devices SigmaStudio -> SStudio.exe.
The user should then see the following window.
