If all the illuminated keys on the panel do not turn off, or if the Cancel Key flashes, the command was
not successful. Press the Cancel Key to clear.
Regardless of the system response, execute the test switch. We recommend routing Input (source) 1 to
Output (destination) 2 on Level 0 (video and audio).
To execute a test switch using the control panel:
1.
Press Input Key 1.
Both the Video and Audio Level Keys illuminate.
Input Key 1 flashes.
2.
Press Output Key 2.
Output Key illuminates, indicating that it is ready to accept the switch.
3.
Press the Take Key.
All the illuminated keys turn off.
Input 1 is routed to Output 2 on both levels.
Verify that the source signal is present (visible and/or audible) at the destination.
If all the illuminated keys on the panel do not turn off, or if the Cancel Key flashes, the command was
not successful. See the “Troubleshooting” section on page 30.

BCS Commands
To enter BCS commands, attach the system to a serial control device running a terminal emulation
program, e.g., Windows
®
HyperTerminal (see “Attaching an External Controller” on page 17).
The settings on the PC serial communication software and the enclosure
must
correspond to each other.
For settings information, see the table on page 19.
When using HyperTerminal, command characters are entered and sent to the enclosure’s CPU. The
command characters appear in HyperTerminal when the enclosure responds. When all of the entered
characters appear in HyperTerminal, the command has been successfully executed.
To disconnect the factory default switch using BCS commands:
1.
Enter the following BCS command line:
DL0I1T
When the “
T
” appears, the system has successfully executed the command.
The following test switch routes Input 1 to Output 2 on Level 0.
To execute the test switch using BCS commands:
1.
Enter the following BCS command line:
CL0I1O2T
When the “
T
” appears, the system has successfully executed the command. If any other characters
appear, the command was not successful. Verify that the source signal is present (visible and/or audible)
at the destination.
