Safety Precautions
The following Safety Precautions must be observed when operating or servicing this equipment. WARNING indicates the
potential for personal injury and CAUTION indicates the potential for damage to equipment. For emphasis, certain
Safety Precautions are repeated throughout the manual. It is important to review ALL Safety Precautions before
operating or servicing the equipment.
If a call to STERIS is needed, note that services charges may be incurred. Consult your warranty for details.
WARNING
PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR EQUIPMENT DAMAGE HAZARD
Repairs and adjustments to this equipment must be made only by STERIS or STERIS-
trained service personnel. Repairs and adjustments performed by unqualified personnel
or installation of unauthorized parts could cause personal injury, result in improper
equipment performance, void the warranty or result in costly damage. Contact STERIS
regarding service options.
Always wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the task to perform.
If an obstruction is present in a door, door automatically stops from closing. Do not
attempt to remove obstruction until door is fully open.
Regularly schedule routine maintenance, as well as preventive maintenance, are
required for safe and reliable operation of this equipment. Routine maintenance
procedures are explained in this manual. For preventive maintenance, contact STERIS to
schedule preventive maintenance or obtain the necessary Maintenance Manual if
preventive maintenance is done by the Customer.
Never overload the equipment, enter in its chamber or climb on it. Maximum loading
weight is 160 lb (73 kg) for AMSCO® Rack Return.
Only use safety lock when performing routine maintenance. Never leave safety lock in
place during normal operation.
When not testing door safety, never close door when safety lock is in place.
