1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

For safe installation and trouble-free operation, you must:

• Carefully read this installation manual before beginning.
• Follow each installation or repair step exactly as shown.
• Observe all local, state and national electrical codes.
• Pay close attention to all danger, warning, and caution notices given in this manual.

WARNING

This mark indicates procedures which, if improperly performed, might lead to the death
or serious injury of the user.

•

Installation and maintenance work must be performed by authorized company or service personnel only.

•  Turn off the power until installation is complete. It will cause electric shock.

•

Incorrect installation of the remote sensor can cause erroneous operation and electrical damage.

•  Installation work must be performed in accordance with national wiring standards by authorized personnel only.

•  Highly dangerous electrical voltages are used in this system. Carefully refer to the wiring diagram and these

instructions when wiring. Improper connections and inadequate grounding can cause accidental injury or death.

CAUTION

This mark indicates procedures which, if improperly performed, might possibly result in
personal harm to the user, or damage to property.

•

Do not cut or connect the cable. Cutting or connecting the cable will prevent accurate temperature detection.

•   Always ensure that wiring is installed fi rmly and correctly. Loose contacts will prevent accurate temperature detection.

•  Always ensure that cable is installed away from the infl uence of power cables and electrical noise.

•  Check heating and cooling operation once the remote sensor has been installed and wiring completed.

•  If the space for remote sensor mounting is not available in the living room, mount it at a place where the temperature

representing the room temperature of living room can be sensed such as near a suction opening on the ceiling etc.

• Let the customer keep this installation manual because it is used when the air conditioner is serviced or moved.

3. MOUNTING

3.1. Selecting the mounting position

When detecting the room temperature using the remote sensor, please set up the remote sensor according to the
following conditions.
If the remote sensor is not well set, the correct room temperature will not be detected, and thus the abnormal conditions
like “not cooled” or “not heated” will occur even if the air-conditioner is running normally.

1

A location with an average temperature for the room being air-conditioned.

2

Not directly exposed to the outlet air from the air-conditioner.

3

  Out of direct sunlight.

4

Away from the infl uence of other heat sources.

5

Not directly exposed to the air entering the room when the door is opened.
