12.2. Cleaning
According to cleanliness of the environment, where the computer is installed, it
is necessary to remove dust and dirt from the panel computer.
Cleaning intervals have to be planned by the vehicle designer.
According to the dust and dirt contamination level, there are cleaning ways as
follows:
Front panel and display screen area have to be cleaned with dry or wet cloth.
It’s necessary to use cleaning agents which cannot cause scratches on screen
area of front panel foil.
Front panel cleaning is typically done during periodical cleaning of the vehicle.
Dust settles on panel computers electronics and cooler, so thermal transmission
between computer parts and ambient air is worse. Because of that dust has to
be removed. Without disassembly the removal can be done by vacuum cleaner.
Depending on the dustiness of the environment the cleaning without
disassembly can be insufficient.
In this case the equipment can be cleaned by dry soft brush or vacuum cleaner,
only when turned-off and disassembled.

It’s recommended to plan such cleaning during the backup battery replacement
to avoid disassembling
/ assembling cycles of the panel computer.
12.3. LCD backlight replacement
The display is fitted with LED backlight. Luminance decreases with time
according to chapter Technical specification.
If the luminance is not already sufficient backlight can be replaced.
Replacement cannot be done by customer, the panel computer has to be sent
to the manufacturer who will accomplish the replacement. Formal order have to
precede the replacement.
