3. Should by loosen of the cover screws (18) for a way of 4-5 mm, the spring tension does not
subside, interrupt the process. May be the sleeve of the spring assembly (32) is damaged. In
this case, you solve two given opposite screws (18) completely and replace them with two
longer screws that you screw correspondingly low. Now you can secure the cover (18) further
solve evenly until the remaining shorter screws are fully screwed out. Replace these again by
appropriate screws and repeat the process as long as until the springs are fully relaxes and
you can remove the end cover (34) safely.
CAUTION!
The spring cover is under pressure! The springs have to be seen as energy storage
and they can cause injury in case of abuse!
4. Both end covers (34) with seals will be removed.
5. Loosen the screws (24) and remove both intermediate cover (21) carefully.
6. By turning the shaft (7) on the external square counter-clockwise, the both pistons can be
pushed out (1) with the guide rods (17) from the housing (16).
7. Mark the position of pistons for the reassembly.
8. Remove the circlip (14), the washer (13) and the bearing washer (12) and press shaft (7)
downward from the housing (16).
4.3.2 Assembly of the actuator type SDAF / SAF
1. Insert the Shaft (7) with the greased O-rings (10+11) and the bearings (8+9) from below into
the housing (16).
2. Equip and grease both pistons (1), piston seals (3+4) and bearings (5+6).
3. Slide the guide rods (17) from above side the way until the O-ring (4) into the piston (1).
4. Grease the sliding surfaces of the pistons in the body (16)
5. Put the pistons (1) from the left and right into the housing (16). The guide rods (17) are
pushed through the opposite free piston bore. Observe the correct installation position!
6. Slide the pistons (1) together until the piston heads are flush with the housing (16).
7. Close both pistons (1) uniformly with the housing (16), which piston (1) by further rotation of
the switching shaft (7) are pressed in the clockwise direction until mutual abutment inwards.
"CLOSED" position.
8. Convey the guide rods (17), until both have about the same housing overhang on each side.
9. Cover seal (O-ring) (19+20+22+27) lightly grease.
10. Equip the intermediate cover (21) with the O-rings (19+20+22+27), and the plain bearings (23)
and then with the screws (24) on the housing (16).
11. Note that the cover assembly is in the longitudinal bore in the housing (16) within the cover
seal (O-ring) (20).
12. Provided the piston (28) with the seals (30) and the nut (31) and washer (29) on each of the
piston rod (25) screw and insert it into the intermediate cover (21).
13. Put the spring assemblies (32) into the pockets provided in the piston (28). In the spring
configuration, make sure that the arrangement of the spring assemblies n as a function of the
number of springs is carried out in accordance with Table 4.1.
14. Note that the total number n of the spring unit is the same with the n indicated on the label.
15. Perform this work always only on a cover side completely.
16. Fix both end cap (34) with the cap screws (18). Tighten the cover bolts (18) crosswise to the
appropriate torque. (see Table 4.2)
17. Check the shaft in "CLOSE" position. The corners of the shaft inside octagon are transversely
to actuator the axis intersection of the actuator and the groove in the outer square. If this is not
the case, shaft (7) downward from the body (16) button and insert it into the correct position in
the body (16).
18. Bearing washer (12) and adjusting washer (13) over the free end of shaft and secure it with
the circlip (14).
