Downloading, modifying, and uploading the
api_uplc.cid data file
(It is assumed that you are familiar with the
UPLC™ web page interface. If not, please refer to
the UPLC™ installation manual for details.)
The UPLC™, when enabled for IEC 61850 proto-
col, has the ability to generate an api_uplc.cid file
on the tab located under Admin->Protocol>IEC
61850 (See Figure 8–6).
The settings on this page (Fig. 8–8) allow you to
change the parameters of the UPLC™ 61850 oper-
ation regarding the GOOSE messages produced by
the UPLC™. To obtain a copy of the UPLC™
api_uplc.cid file, click the button “Download
UPLC .CID file”. The browser interface will
prompt you to save the api_uplc.cid file to your
local hard drive.
You then may edit the api_uplc.cid file to construct
a GOOSE Subscription.
The default api_uplc.cid file contains a sample
GOOSE Subscription block that may be edited. Be
sure to use a non-formatting text editor such as
Windows
®
Notepad, or a programming editor.
Figure 8–8 shows the api_uplc.cid file with the yel-
low line indicating the start of the GOOSE
Subscription block. Due to rapid development, the
actual api_uplc.cid file may be slightly different
than shown. Also note that in this editor lines do not
wrap, so the attributes of the GOOSE subscription
are not all shown.
You can now make changes to the GOOSE sub-
scription data.
