Setting the spread rate manually
Take the shutter slide position directly from the setting chart – find the type
of fertiliser to be spread, working width, intended operating speed and
desired spread rate. The figure kg/l mentioned refers to the bulk
density of the material to be spread.
Example:
Type of fertiliser:
Terra Nitram 34,5%N prilled AN (Ff. 1.21)
Working width:
24 m
Operating speed:
12 k.p.h.
Desired spread rate:
400 kg/ha
Looking in the appropriate setting table the nearest spread rate is 394 kg/
ha at a shutter slide position: ‘’43’’.
Determining the shutter slide position for speeds not mentioned in
the setting chart:
Example:
Type of fertiliser:
Terra Nitram 34,5%N prilled AN (Ff. 1.21)
Working width:
24 m
Operating speed:
10,7 k.p.h.
Desired spread rate:
400 kg/ha
desired speed (10,7) [km/h] x desired spread rate (400)[kg/ha]
10
Then look up for a 24 m working width in the 10 k.p.h. column, the calculated
value (428) the nearest table value (426) gives the shutter slide position (41).
Determining the shutter slide position for working widths not
mentioned in the setting chart:
Example:
Type of fertiliser:
Terra Nitram 34,5%N prilled AN (Ff. 1.21)
Working width:
33,0 m
Operating speed:
12 k.p.h.
Desired spread rate:
400 kg/ha
desired working width (33,0) [m] x desired spread rate (400) [kg/ha]
36
Then look up at 36 m working width in the 12 k.p.h. column, the calculated
value (367) the nearest table value (371) gives the shutter slide position (51).
