Putting on the back carrier
Please carry your baby in this way once they can hold
up their head up on their own, i.e. from about five
months old up to about three years old (max. 15 kg).
First, make the two shoulder straps as long as they
will go to make it easier to readjust the SMART
CARRIER later.
Feed the loops of the separate connecting piece
over the shoulder straps. The connecting piece should
be closed to prevent the strap from twisting. Now undo
the connecting piece.
Connect both shoulder strap buckles with the
corresponding counter piece. Listen for the click sound.
Now put on the hip belt so that the buckle is on
your back. When closing the buckle, listen for the “click”
sound. The hip belt should be loose.
Take your child, position their legs to the right and
left of the SMART CARRIER and pivot the backpiece
up. Reposition your hands so that they end up on the
backpiece of the SMART CARRIER.
Hold your infant securely as you do so, sufficiently
supporting their head and neck.
Push your child and the SMART CARRIER up
under your arms.Use your second hand to push up
the hip belt.
Now bend over slightly and push your child and
the SMART CARRIER onto your back. Hold your child
securely when doing so!
Whilst you are still bending forward, slip an arm
through the shoulder strap.
Now carefully switch the hand you are using to
securely hold the child and backpiece.
Now slip the hand that you have just freed through the
shoulder strap.
Make sure that the arms of your child are above the
shoulder strap buckle!
Tighten both backpiece straps by pulling them at an
angle up and away from your body. This should result
in you and your baby feeling comfortable.
Shut the connecting piece between the two
shoulder straps above your chest. Set the connecting
piece to a height and width that is comfortable for you.
Now pull the hip belt tight.
Angle your baby's knees slightly so he is in the
orthopaedically correct "frog leg" position, and pull the
fabric of the seat to the correct width so he is sitting
comfortably and is safely supported.
And that’s it!
Taking off the back carrier
Open the connecting piece between the two

holding your child.
Now push your child and the SMART CARRIER
up under your arms. Continue to hold your child
securely when doing so.
Then slide your child in front of your stomach.
