• Press and hold the trigger to switch the
meter on and begin measuring the surface
temperature. The
SCAN
and
K-TYPE
indicator
are shown on the display. The temperature
shown is updated continuously.
NOTICE
For longer measurements, use
a thermal tape (not provided) to attach the
thermocouple probe to the surface being
measured.
NOTICE
When using the thermocouple probe,
the
MAX/MIN/DIF/AVG
functions are disabled.
Field of View
• The meter’s field of view is 20:1. This means
that if the product is 20 inches from the target,
the diameter of the object under test must be
at least 1 inch (2.5 cm). Make sure that the
target is larger than the unit’s spot size. The
smaller the target, the closer you should be
to it. When accuracy is critical, make sure the
target is at least twice as large as the spot size.
• The measurements should normally be made
less than 2 feet (60 cm) from the target.
• Steam, dust, smoke, etc. can cause inaccurate
measurements.
