Battery Replacement
The unit is provided fitted with a PP3 (9V) battery. Battery replacement is carried out by removing the
cover on the base of the unit. A low battery is indicated by ‘Bat’ flashing on the display. Failure to
change the battery when this is indicated may result in incorrect readings being recorded. For long life,
we recommend the use of a lithium manganese battery.

Handling
The MacGregor Digital Force Gauge is a precision instrument and should be treated as such.
Overloading, dropping, shocks, etc will cause damage to the unit. It is important that the gauge is
moved using the body of the gauge, and
NOT
by the sensing element. Failure to do so may cause
damage to the gauge.
Before use, check that no debris has accumulated underneath the beam, and in particular between
the beam and the overload protection screw.

Manual Tare
When the unit powers on, various self tests are carried out, including an automatic tare. This will
operate for loads up to 15 grams WFG2 (50grams for the WFG7, or 100grams for the WFG15), any
more and the unit displays ‘Err’, sounds an alarm and then switches off.
Once the unit is on, at any time a manual tare can be carried out as follows.
1)
Press the ‘HOLD’ button.
2)
Within 2 seconds of pressing ‘HOLD’, press the ‘UNITS’ button.
3)
Maintain the ‘UNITS’ button down until the display shows all zeros, and release.
4)
Whatever load was applied on the gauge when the ‘UNITS’ button was pressed and all zeros
appear is now tared to zero.
