8. Troubleshooting Guide

We have carefully tested and have found no problems in the supplied MT317

–101. However, we would like to offer suggestions for the

following:

Extender

Symptom

Resolution

LEDs Are OFF

Make sure the unit is plugged all the way into the MultiTasker slot.

Make sure the MultiTasker enclosure is connected to AC power and that the power switch on the

front of the unit is turned on.

Check Transmitter

The MT317

–101 requires a valid fiber optic signal with HDMI video in order to display video on the

HDMI output. The signal must terminate into a compatible Altinex receiver:

MT317-102, FR317-102.

Check the receiver; verify power is present.

Make sure the transmitter LEDs indicate power and status.

No Display

Check the source (transmitter side) and make sure there is a signal present.

Make sure the source connected to the transmitter has power and is turned on.

Run a short fiber cable between the transmitter and receiver. The cable in question may be too long

or of inferior quality. If the image appears, check the cable length and quality. Look for any damage
or creases in the cable.

Poor Output Image

The source resolution may not be compatible with the projector or other display device. Try other

resolutions from the source.

The source and display may not be compatible. Connect the source directly to the input of the

projector or other display device. If the image is poor the devices may be incompatible.

Run a different cable. The cable in question may be too long or of inferior quality.

System Failure

Please call the Altinex Customer Service Department at (714) 990-2300 to have the unit repaired.
