Ethernet Cable Wiring and Pinout
Take note of the following points when crimping Ethernet RJ45 connectors.
1.
The Ethernet cable should be either CAT 5e or CAT 6 type, outdoor rated, and shielded if the AX500 is
installed in an outdoor environment. For details, refer to Section 12.1.
2.
The Ethernet cable should be fed through the provided cable gland for waterproof protection if the
AX500 unit is installed in an outdoor environment. For details, refer to Section 10.3.
3.
T568B standard is recommended for RJ45 connector pin assignment. See Figure 8-1 for the color code
for Ethernet connection.
4.
Straight-through cable is preferred. The RJ45 connectors at both cable ends should have the same
pinout.
5.
Make sure the total length of Ethernet cable
MUST NOT
exceed 100 meters.
