4.3 Selection of the operating mode / antifreezing function

Actuating the touch key allows to change the operating mode in the order shown below:
– Automatic (automatic control in dependence on the adjusted weekday program – see 5.4 / 5.5)
– Comfort (permanent adjustment of control operations to the comfort temperature – see 5.4)
– ECO (permanent adjustment of control operations to the ECO temperature – see 5.4)
– OFF (frost protection)
In “OFF” mode, the controller activates the antifreezing function each time the temperature value
measured by the internal or the activated external sensor falls below a level of approx. 5°C. When
controlling 2-pipe systems, the common heating/cooling output (O1) is being activated. The heating
symbol appears on the display and the corresponding indicator lamp lights red. When controlling
4-pipe systems, both the heating (O1) and the cooling output (O2) are active. In this case, the
heating or cooling symbols appear alternately on the display and the red or the blue indicator lamp
is on. The controller is deactivated again when exceeding a temperature level of approx. 6°C. This
antifreezing function helps prevent rooms from cooling down thoroughly and protects against the
occurrence of frost damage.
