Press the TUNE button repeatedly to select the
PTY31 ON or PTY31 OFF mode.
In the PTY31 ON mode, the unit will show
"ALARM" in the display when the unit receives
the PTY31 (Emergency Broadcast) signal.

Press and hold the INTLZ button for at least 2
seconds to activate the selected mode.
Displaying Radio Text
Text messages from a radio station can be
displayed.

Tune in a radio station that transmits text
messages.

Press the "F" button. The FUNC indicator
illuminates.

Press the R.TEXT button to activate the Radio
Text mode. The display shows "WAIT" for a few
seconds, then starts scrolling the text message.
It continues until other operation is performed.

To cancel the Radio Text mode, press the
R.TEXT button.

Press the "F" button to return to the normal
operation mode. The FUNC indicator disappears
from the display.
NOTES
•
If there is no receivable text message or the unit
cannot receive a text message properly, the display
shows "NO TEXT" for 2 seconds.
•
Operate the unit while the FUNC indicator is
illuminated.
