Replacing the Batteries

CAUTION: While the batteries are being changed, the unit cannot provide
backup power. This procedure should

NOT

be done while critical loads are

running that depend upon the unit’s backup power.

Procedure

TIP: The Alarm LED

turns on

when the battery

circuit breaker is turned off.

Switch the unit into Hot Swap (Section 3.6,

“Hot Swap”).

Turn off the battery circuit breaker.

Unplug the battery cable.

Remove the battery cable from the old

batteries.

Replace the batteries.

Attach the battery cable to the new batter-

ies.

Plug in the battery cable.

Turn on the battery circuit breaker.

Switch the unit out of Hot Swap (Section

3.6, “Hot Swap”).
