User Manual
HDE
The HDE and HDE-CO circular duct electric heaters are made up of the following basic elements:
•
housing (1)
•
connection box (2)
•
heating elements (3)
•
thermal protection: automatic AT and manual MT (4)
•
electric wires (5)
•
electric terminals (6)
The casing (1) of the HDE heater and connections box (2) are made of galvanized steel sheet, heating
components (3) are made of stainless steel. The special, spiral-like shape of the heating elements (3) allows
for uniform heating of passing air. Depending on the HDE heater power, the number of heating components
(3) is 1 to 4. In the connection box (2) there are electric wires (5), electric terminals (6) and thermal protections
(4). All HDE heaters are fitted with two thermal protections: automatic AT and manual MT (4). The first is
an automatic thermostat AT; the other is a manual thermostat MT. All HDE type heaters are dedicated for
operation with 230V rated power.
1.5 Operating principle
After supplying power to the HDE circular duct electric heater, its heating components increase the temperature
of the air flow to the set value. The temperature setting is adjusted by a thermostat dial or by a PULSER type
regulator. The set temperature value is dependent on the speed and efficiency of air flow in the ventilation
duct in which HDE circular duct electric heaters are mounted. A correctly selected HDE circular duct electric
heaters guarantee increasing the supply air temperature or maintaining it at a set, constant level, up to a
maximum permissible value of +40°C. In the case of exceedance of the permissible air temperature level,
the first protection is an automatic thermostat TA - it switches on when the temperature reaches the level
of +60°C. After lowering the temperature to an appropriate level, the heater switches on automatically. The
second, manual TR thermostat operates when the temperature rises to 90°C. Upon activation of the manual
thermostat MT, manual device reset is required to restart it.
1.6 Dimensions
HDE circular duct electric heaters are available in several standard diameters in the range between 100 mm
and 400 mm. The data sheet, available at Alnor website, includes a general arrangement drawing of HDE
circular duct electric heaters and a table with the main dimensions of different diameters.
1.7 Electrical parameters
The data sheet, available at Alnor website, includes the electrical parameters of HDE circular duct electric
heaters.
2. Technical acceptance
2.1 Certificates and standards
All HDE circular duct electric heaters are compliant with the low voltage directive
LVD 2006/95/WE
as per the
harmonized standards:
EN 60335-1:2012
and
EN 60335-2-30:2010
