5 Electrical
5.1 Chassis Ground and Voltage Selection
Connect the chassis to earth ground using 18 AWG (or larger) wire from the chassis ground screw located next
to the power receptacle on the rear panel as shown in Figure 5.

Be sure the voltage switch on the rear of the unit is set to the appropriate setting for your location. The unit is
shipped in the United States with the switch set to 115 VAC.
Caution: Failure to follow these steps may result in equipment damage, personal injury, and void the
product warranty.
5.2 Power-Up Sequence
Connect the unit to the power source with the AC power cable. The server will automatically begin to power
up. As it progresses through the power up sequence, the front panel lights will respond as shown in Table 2.

Flashes as the power up sequence progresses,
then lights steady green when the unit is ready.
Drive
Flashes as the power up sequence progresses.
Alert
Lights orange momentarily, then goes off.
