Ensure  that  you  have  inserted  a  valid  and  configured  SIM  card  and
connected a GSM antenna.

Integrate  the  come

2

ascos  device  into  your  system  as  shown  in  the

preceding chapter.

I

NITIALISATION

As soon as the come

2

ascos device is supplied with power, the initialisation

starts.  This  process  lasts  for  about  10  to  20  seconds.  The  quality  of  the
GSM signal is checked and if not sufficient, the modem restarts.

R

EADY

A  slow  flashing  yellow  light  indicates  that  the  modem  has  registered  at
GSM  net.  After  another  few  seconds  of  internal  initialisation  the
come

2

ascos device is ready. In this state you can set the device into pause

mode or start the process of connecting by sending a GGA message.

C

ONNECTING AND

A

UTHENTICATION

After receiving a GGA message the come

2

ascos device starts connecting to

the  reference  service.  This  activity  is  indicated  by  the  green  LED.  The
connecting procedure including the authentication lasts about one minute.

D

ATA

T

RANSMISSION

Both LEDs are constantly on. Correction data are being transmitted. If the
connection  is  disconnected  because  of  low  GSM  signal  or  electromagnetic
interferences  the  come

2

ascos  device  might  restart  automatically.  For

improving  stability  please  read  the  chapter  about  “Performance
Optimization”.

In  order  to  reduce  GPRS  costs  you  can  stop  the  flow  of  correction  data
temporarily by stopping the GGA output of your GNSS receiver or pushing
the button at the front of the device for 2 seconds. The flow of correction
data  is  activated  again  as  soon  as  a  new  GGA  message  is  received
respectively  the  button  is  pushed  for  2  seconds.  In  GPRS  mode  the  data
flow  is  resumed  quickly  within  only  a  few  seconds  as  the  come

2

ascos

device stays online in pause mode.
Push the button for 5 seconds for shutting down into stand by mode.
