9.0 Care and Maintenance – [cont’d]
NOTE:
If multiple mounts are to be replaced, it is
recommended to replace one mount at a time.
1. Position Ho-Pac on flat, stable surface.
2. Support top mounting frame to remove weight
from mounts.
3. Loosen all nuts. Remove nuts and washers.
4. Remove all bolts and mount.
5. Position new mount. Use alignment bar to align
bolt holes.
6. Install new bolts and lock washers.
7. Tighten bolt to proper torque. Refer to Table 9.2.
9.9 Threaded Fasteners Tightening Torque
IMPORTANT
All threaded fasteners must be checked frequently
for loose, broken or missing bolts. Keep threaded
fasteners tight. Replace with new if missing or
damaged. Replacement fasteners must be the same
type and grade. Follow proper tightening procedures
and bolt torque. Failure to follow these instructions
when tightening can have serious consequences.
A hardened washer must be used under the head
of a bolt in a blind hole.
With a nut and bolt combination, a hardened
washer must be used under the element to be
turned. AND the element not turned must be
prevented from rotating during tightening.
All threads must be free of damage and foreign
debris. Surfaces to be bolted must be flat.
Do not apply thread lock compound to the bolt
threads unless instructed to do so.
Lubricate bolt threads.
IMPORTANT
Keep fasteners tight. Replace missing or damaged
fasteners with new. Replacement fasteners must be
the same type and grade. Follow proper torque
procedures. Refer to Table 9.2 for bolt torque.
9.9.1 Bolts - Proper Preparation, Pre-tensioning
and Torque
1. Clean threaded fasteners and surfaces to be
bolted.
2. Lightly lubricate threads.
IMPORTANT
Do not apply thread lock compound to the bolt
threads unless instructed to do so.
1. Install all bolts finger tight.
2. Follow a crisscross pattern (Fig. 9-3) and tighten
all bolts until 1/3 of the specified torque in Table
9.2 is reached.
3. Tighten all bolts again until 2/3 of the specified
torque is reached.
4. Continue crisscross pattern and tighten to the full
torque shown in Table 9.2.
