To use the cable, you connect it to the Console port on the switch with a
standard, straight-through Ethernet cable. Refer to Figure 39. The cable
requires a software driver from Allied Telesis. The VT-Kit3 management
cable is sold separately.

The following procedure explains how to start a local management
session on the switch. For instructions on how to start a remote
management session, refer to the
x330 Series Software Reference for
AlliedWare Plus Operating System .
Perform the following procedure to start a local management session:
1. Connect the RJ-45 end of the management card included with the
switch to the Console on the switch. Refer to Figure 40.
