Defining Trusted Interfaces
The
Trusted Interfaces Page
allows network manager to define Trusted interfaces. Trusted interfaces are
connected to DHCP servers, switches, or hosts which do not require DHCP packet filtering. Trusted interfaces
receive packets only from within the network or the network firewall, and are allowed to respond to DHCP
requests. Packets sent from an interface outside the network, or from beyond the network firewall, are blocked by
trusted interfaces.
Conversely, untrusted interfaces can be configured to receive traffic from outside the network or the firewall.
To define trusted interfaces:

Trusted Interfaces Page
contains the following fields:
Global-level Parameter
•
Interface
— Defines the interfaces whose trusted interface configuration is displayed. The possible field
values are:

Ports of Unit
— Displays the stacking member whose trusted interface configuration is displayed.

Trunk
— Displays the trunks whose trusted interface configuration is displayed.
Interface-level Parameters
•
Interface
— Contains a list of existing interfaces.
•
Trust
— Indicates whether the interface is a Trusted interface.
