GuardPLC DeviceNet Safety Scanner

Chapter

5

User Verification Procedure

Since RSNetWorx for DeviceNet software is not an SIL 3 certified
application, the configuration values resulting from user operations
and software computation are not considered to be of high-integrity
until the download, read-back, and user testing is complete. Complete
these steps to guarantee safety.

1.

Assign SSN and configure devices using RSNetWorx for
DeviceNet software.

2.

Read back and print out the configuration from the device.

3.

Compare the printed configuration to the configuration from
RSNetWorx for DeviceNet software.

4.

Compare printed values read back to application requirements.

5.

Test the application.

6.

Lock the device if errors do not occur.

7.

Correct the configuration if errors occur.

8.

Repeat these steps until all DeviceNet safety nodes are verified
and locked.
